My studio is my kitchen, 2002-?

My art practise is my performance and the products are art.

My studio is my kitchen and all ingredients are allowed.

I carved old rolling pins into printing tools which I print into salt dough. (1kg salt 1kg flower and water). The prints remind of artefacts of an ancient civilisation. Thus I connect my art practice with an age old tradition of creativity that is as fundamental for civilisation as food.
Skills build the runway for the eventual artistic take off.
I‘ve got an arsenal of skills that I have been practising since my childhood:

drawing and painting
singing
carving wood
writing sharp letters
collecting plants and mushrooms
playing football
walking on hands
riding a skateboard
e.a.

I have created a performance character who exploits artistic freedom unrestrained. She uses a variety of skills like a painter uses different brushes.
In the video piece ”10 Things I’m good at ”she shows off some of her skills.
She looks like a little girl who plays at cooking.
Her air of incredible naivety and almost outdated innocence takes you off guard. Just her street smart Nikes warn you that she might confound your expectations. You’ll realise what she has served you, when it’s already half digested.
She believes that bread forms the base of food, but also someone has to form the bread and therefore also uses artistic freedom for political action.
You’ll never know what she’ll do next.
She loves to play hide and seek in the void of artistic freedom.
Are you game?
